A fire that has destroyed a large two storey house in Auckland is being treated as suspicious.

Seven people were at the Bassett Road, Remuera address when the fire was noticed about 3.30am today.
All got out safely.
Fire and Emergency is asking the police to investigate how the fire started in the house, which is split into two flats.
Twelve emergency vehicles attended the scene and Remuera Road was down to one lane.
The fire is now out, but fire crews are still on the scene, as are two fire investigators.
