Swimmers who died at separate South Auckland spots named

Two people whose bodies were recovered from separate swimming holes at Ramarama and Hunua Falls yesterday have been named.

Upmanyu Sharma, 23, died at Hunua Falls on Sunday.

When the search began, it was reported that he had been swept into the water.

Johannes Edwin Proosten, 50, died at a water hole off Pratts Road, Ramarama also on Sunday.

Police earlier said he went under water and failed to resurface.

The deaths have been referred to the Coroner.
