Police are seeking witnesses to a serious assault on a man in Christchurch yesterday in the suburb of St Albans.
The man is in a critical condition.
Police said the attack happened just before 6pm on a driveway outside a property in Malvern Street.
A man has been arrested and will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow.
Police said the two men were known to each other and it was an isolated event.
They want to hear from anyone who saw the assault.
