A British tourist charged with assaulting a woman using a car as a weapon has failed to turn up in court.

The 26-year-old man was also charged with using a motor vehicle recklessly following an incident at Auckland's Takapuna Beach on 13 January.
He was also facing a fraud charge.
The man was due to appear in the Auckland District Court today for a bail hearing.
An arrest warrant has been issued.
