Facebook has filed legal action against an Upper Hutt company, accusing it of providing fake likes, views and followers on the Facebook-owned app, Instagram.

A Facebook spokesperson says the company is called Social Media Series Limited.
Three people have also had action filed against them.
Facebook alleges the company and individuals used different companies and websites to sell fake engagement services.
It said it previously suspended accounts associated with the defendants and formally warned them in writing.
The lawsuit has been filed in a US federal court.
