Police are looking for a second man in connection with a serious assault in Motueka yesterday.
A 46-year-old man was airlifted to Wellington Hospital after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault in the town's High St area.
Police say he has had surgery and his condition is no longer critical.
A 37-year-old Motueka man arrested in relation to the assault was due to appear in Nelson District Court on Saturday. Further charges are pending.
