Police investigate Auckland death

Police are investigating the death of a man who collapsed on an inner city street in Auckland.

Auckland police Inspector Anthony Edwards says Edward Hinchcliff, 24, died in hospital after collapsing on Hobson St on Thursday.

Mr Hinchcliff had unexplained facial injuries.

Police are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information which may help locate a white Mazda Familia Stationwagon registration CSS949.

The vehicle was in Mr Hinchcliff's possession but has not been located since his death.

Police are also trying to establish the movements of Mr Hinchcliff prior to his arrival at Sky City at 2pm February 5.

Mr Hinchcliff, is described as a 190cm caucasian of slight build and was wearing blue jeans and a basket ball style white singlet.
