A scrub fire at Kinloch, north of Taupo, has been brought under control.
The fire in Whangamata Road is believed to have been started by a spark from hay making machinery and quickly spread across 12 hectares of tussock on Monday.
At its peak, 40 firefighters and three helicopters with monsoon buckets worked to contain the blaze.
