A Chinese immigrant who made video recordings of customers in a cafe toilet in Rotorua could lose the right to remain in New Zealand.
Feiyu Zhou, 25, set up a covert camera in a Starbucks restroom.
He pleaded guilty to making five intimate visual recordings of men and women in June and July this year and was sentenced in Rotorua District Court on Friday to 200 hours of community work and nine months' supervision.
Zhou apologised for his actions, which he says were prompted by an addiction to internet pornography.
The Immigration Service says it is in the process of reviewing the man's residence permit and has already revoked his work permit.
