A Christchurch pool site may be sold if a council draft proposal goes ahead.
Christchurch city councillors voted in favour of an option to sell the Edgeware pool site during a review of the draft long-term council community plan.
Many St Albans residents have pushed for a new pool on since the council demolished the old one in 2006.
A spokesperson for the St Albans Pavilion and Pool Group, Craig Dickson, says he is disappointed the council is supporting the sale.
Mr Dickson says money the group raised to build a new pool is likely to be put into fighting any sale.
The council has refused to comment, saying the plan is only a draft.
