Northland is in for more rain and gale force winds.
The Met Service has issued a severe weather warning, for northern and western areas, from late Thursday - Saturday morning.
It says Northland can expect up to 100mm of rain from Thursday afternoon - midday Friday. More is forecast for the hills north east of Whangarei.
MetService says a moist northeasterly airstream could affect northern and western parts of both islands.
Similar conditions brought flooding in parts of the Far North last weekend.
