Blood bank building hit by car after collision

A blood bank building in Hamilton was damaged when a car crashed into it after a collision on Tuesday morning.

Police are still trying to find out just what caused the collision between a van and a car at 6.30am.

The van flipped and the driver of the car was trapped for a time.

Both drivers are under observation in hospital, one for head injuries and one for chest injuries.

The crash caused extensive damage to a shower block at the centre. No personnel in the building at the time were injured.
