Services on the Kapiti and Hutt Valley lines stopped at about 11am, following an operational incident. Trains briefly only had access to platforms one to five.

However, by 1.40pm, all platforms were accessible.

While the incident is still under investigation, train operator Transdev said that there was one damaged switch point just outside Wellington station. This has now been repaired.

There are still some slight delays, but Transdev are not expecting any impact on services during peak times.

On Wednesday, last week a train derailment caused traffic chaos in the capital.
