More than a dozen family members of a man fatally stabbed in South Auckland 10 days ago, have arrived in New Zealand from Samoa.

Olo Fiti, 37, was killed in what police say was a savage attack in Otara.

A 25-year-old man, Sam Simi, is charged with his murder.

He was arrested at Auckland Airport a day after the attack as he was about to board a flight to Apia.

Thirteen people, including Mr Fiti's parents, have arrived in time for a family service on Monday night and his funeral on Tuesday morning.
