An international travel website ranks Nelson among worldwide towns most favoured by tourists.
The Tasman city is rated in the top three most charming small towns by "tripadvisor. com."
The birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon-Avon in England, and San Pedro de Atacama in Chile were ranked first and second respectively.
Nelson's tourism chief Paul Davis says it's priceless publicity for the city on a website that's accessed by about 15 million travellers per week.
