Palmerston North police say one of the eight recent fires in the city is not thought to be linked to the others.
There have been eight suspected arsons since last Sunday in Palmerston North, including blazes in cafes, skips and construction sites.
Police say they have CCTV footage showing a man starting a fire early Monday morning at a cafe on the city's Esplanade.
However, they do not believe the man is responsible for the other fires.
