Aucklanders will be given the chance to air their views on which voting system should be used for the new super-city council and how much can be spent in the election campaign.
A parliamentary select committee has agreed to consider this and other issues during a month-long session of hearings around Auckland.
The MPs have agreed to widen the scope of submissions to whether there should be a first past the post vote or a single transferable vote electoral system, and what limits there might be on election spending.
Written submissions are open until 26 June. Hearings start on 6 July.
