A man accused of sparking a police chase in which an innocent bystander was fatally shot has made a brief appearance in the Auckland District Court.
Stephen McDonald faces 36 charges in relation to the incident in which courier driver Halatau Naitoko, 17, was mistakenly shot by police on the northwestern motorway on 23 January.
He was remanded in custody until next month.
