One person has died and five people have been injured following a crash on State Highway 12 in Northland early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash in Ruawai in the Kaipara District just after 2am.
The police say one person died at the scene.
St John Ambulance said they have taken five injured people to hospital - three in a serious condition, one moderate and one minor.
The police say they are investigating.
