A man is in critical condition after falling off an e-scooter and being hit by a vehicle.

At around 11.20pm last night emergency services were alerted to the incident on Symonds Street, central Auckland.
The man is believed to have fallen off the e-scooter and become unconscious as a result.
A car travelling on the street was able to avoid the man but a second car following behind struck him.
The second car did not remain at the scene.
Police would like to speak to the driver of that second vehicle and any witnesses to the incident.
The man remains in a critical condition in hospital.
