State Highway 2 at Te Puna near Tauranga was temporarily closed on Saturday after a three-car crash.
The police say five people were hurt, with two being treated in Tauranga Hospital for moderate injuries.
Diversions were put in place along Te Puna Road and Te Puna Station Road until the road was reopened.
