Road snowfall warnings for the Desert Road have been lifted by MetService. However, there is black ice on the road on Saturday morning.
Ice warnings are also in place for State Highway Five from Taupo to Napier.
In the South Island, SH94 from Te Anau - Milford Sound is closed due to the possibility of avalanches in the area.
