A Northland boy has died in what police believe was a shooting accident at his home.
The 10-year-old died at a Dargaville house on Tuesday morning.
St John Ambulance was called to the scene about 8am where they found family members distraught and the boy dead with gunshot injuries to his head.
Paramedics say there was nothing that could be done for him.
Police say the death is not suspicious. They are interviewing family members and waiting for results of a post-mortem.
