Bail refused for sex offender

The Court of Appeal has dismissed a bail request from a sex offender known as the Beast of Blenheim.

Stuart Murray Wilson, 63, has served 15 years of a 21-year prison sentence for numerous sex crimes.

Despite serving two-thirds of his sentence, he has been refused parole.

The Parole Board has ruled that the earliest he can be released is September 2012.

Wilson is in the process of appealing against that ruling and has also applied for bail.

The Court of Appeal has rejected that request, saying it has no jurisdiction to grant bail.
