Two critical after collision

Two people are in a critical condition in hospital in Auckland after a van was partially submerged in a creek north of Piha.

Police say a collision between the van and a car happened at 2.11am on Sunday on Marine Parade.

The van, with four people inside, went off a bridge, flipped into a creek and landed on its roof. It was partially submerged when emergency services arrived.

One person had to be resuscitated at the scene.

Two people were airlifted to hospital: both are in a critical condition.
