An Auckland man injured in a motorcycle race crash in Paeroa has died in Waikato Hospital.
The 58-year-old man was injured in a sidecar race at the Battle of the Streets event on Sunday afternoon.
He sustained pelvic and chest injuries when his vehicle rolled at high speed and was airlifted to Waikato Hospital, where he died in the operating theatre on Sunday night.
Police say the crash left three other people injured, including the man's daughter, who had been competing with her father as the sidecar's swinger during the race.
A serious crash investigation is underway on behalf of the Coroner.
