A post-mortem on the skeletal remains of a body found in the Waikato River on Saturday, will be held in Auckland on Tuesday.
The body was found next to the Meremere Wharf on Saturday morning.
Police say clothing found with the remains indicates the body may be that of a woman, but this is yet to be confirmed.
They say it may be some time before a positive identification can be made.
