A elderly man has died after being hit by a bus in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga.
Police say the bus struck the 82-year-old while he was crossing Church Street about 8.30am on Tuesday.
The man was taken to Auckland Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
The manager of the bus company Urban Express would not discuss how the incident happened, but said the driver has been stood down for a period of time.
Police are investigating.
