Maori musicians doing better overseas than at home

Despite this being New Zealand Music Month, Maori musicians say they're doing better on the international market than at home.

Ngahiwi Apanui, the chair of Puatatangi Contemporary Maori Music, told Waatea News that lack of airplay outside of iwi stations in New Zealand means Maori acts are not picking up the local sales they merit.

That's forcing many to look for opportunities offshore.
