Gang may have regained control of seized house

The Justice Minister is concerned that an Auckland drugs house confiscated from Black Power may be back in the gang's control.

Police say the Mt Wellington property was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act last year after being used in a commercial cannabis selling operation involving 16 people.

It was sold to a private buyer for just under $250,000 in December.

A spokesperson says that the minister, Simon Power, is concerned Black Power may be residing at the house again and that he will be monitoring the effects of the Proceeds of Crime legislation to see if there are similar cases.

Police in Counties-Manukau say they're disappointed with the situation, and will remain vigilant to deal with any offending.
