The union representing radiographers says it will continue its suspension of industrial action in Christchurch for now.

Radiographers, or medical radiation technologists, are in a dispute with district health boards, excluding Taranaki, over pay.

The Apex union suspended industrial action in Christchurch because of the earthquake, but went ahead with a 24-hour strike earlier this month in all other areas involved in the dispute.

A union delegate for radiographers, Bernadette Gourley, says action in Christchurch will remain suspended.

Laboratory workers have also suspended strike action in Christchurch and will discuss at a meeting on Friday whether the suspension will continue.
