New date for Kahui inquest

12:03 pm on 23 September 2010

A new date has been set for a Coroner's inquest into the deaths of the Kahui twins.

Chris and Cru Kahui died in Starship hospital five days after being admitted with head injuries in June 2006. They were three months old.

Their father, Chris Kahui, was charged with their murder but acquitted in May 2008.

An inquest was due to start in February, but was postponed.

Wellington coroner Garry Evans will now hear the inquest starting on 4 October.

It will be held in Auckland in two sets of hearings and is due to finish on 12 November.
