Talks to resume between X-ray staff and DHBs

6:16 pm on 9 November 2010

Hospital x-ray staff will return to talks with their employers on Tuesday after cancelling a nationwide strike.

Radiographers had planned to strike on Tuesday and Wednesday in their long-running row with district health boards over pay.

They cancelled this at the last minute on Monday, saying DHBs had agreed to meet.

The meeting will be in Auckland on Tuesday afternoon, centred on a pay offer from August that has been retabled by district health boards.

The DHBs are offering 1% in April next year, 1% in October, a lump sum and other improvements.

Radiographers say they want genuine talks, or full strikes will resume.

Meanwhile, 19 DHBs are trying to reschedule operations involving radiology that were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday.
