Police investigating an arson at Glendowie Primary School in east Auckland are viewing more than 27 hours of surveillance video for clues.

Ten classrooms were destroyed in a blaze on Friday night.

About 150 students, mostly juniors, are now without classrooms. Arrangements are being made to get the school ready for term one, which starts on 3 February.

Police say they have interviewed more than 30 people and are reviewing images, frame by frame, from nine security cameras positioned around the school.

Young people are reported to have been seen near the school just before the fire started.
