Police are appealing for witnesses to a teenager being hit by a bus in the Wellington suburb of Kilbirnie.
The 18-year-old is in a serious condition in hospital with head and chest injuries.
Wellington Free Ambulance says the teenager was hit as he ran across the road at 11.15am in front of a large group of students from Rongotai College.
Police have spoken to a number of witnesses, but are keen to hear from anyone else who may have seen the incident.
