Little progress in seal death inquiry

9:15 pm on 7 February 2011

An investigation into the killing of 23 fur seals at Kaikoura in December last year has slowed down.

The Department of Conservation has offered a reward of $20,000, but the inquiry is hampered by lack of evidence and few fresh leads.

DoC says that while the case has grown a little cold, it is still confident of an arrest and it is working with police.
