An elderly woman driver has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Kapiti Coast.
Police say it appears a car heading south on State Highway 1, near Otaki, lost control and crashed into the woman's car.
They say three people in the southbound car were treated by ambulance staff.
The crash caused delays along State Highway 1.
