A link road to the southwestern motorway in Auckland will be closed for a month from Friday night, as the Transport Agency constructs a new intersection and installs noise walls.
The Maioro street section, between Sandringham road and Richardson road, connects motorists to most central and western suburbs, as well as Manukau and Auckland international airport.
It is the first upgrade of the Waterview connection, which provides an alternate road to State Highway One.
NZTA says motorists will need to find alternate routes and be prepared for long delays.
The agency is to review the situation next week and change its traffic plans if needed.
