Air NZ introduces cheaper fares

11:00 am on 29 November 2011

Air New Zealand has cut the prices of its lowest fares for those travelling domestically with only carry-on luggage.

Jetstar already offers a similar deal for those without bags for check-in.

Air New Zealand says its cheapest fares will fall by up to $10.

The airline will also start offering cheaper standby fares on non-stop, off peak flights until the end of June next year, after trials in Dunedin and Christchurch.

It says passengers will fly only if spare seats are available.
