Police are appealing for information to help find a masked man who brutally attacked a woman at an RSA in Auckland.

A 62-year old woman was beaten and tied up during a robbery of the Hobsonville Returned and Services' Association on Thursday morning.

Police say the man fled the club with cash stolen from the bar. Surveillance cameras outside the club captured footage of him wearing a cap and sunglasses.

Once inside the RSA, the man wore the hood of his sweatshirt up and a Halloween-style mask over his face.

Detective Senior Sergeant Andy King says it was a brutal attack and police need the public's help to find the man, who was in the area between 8am and 9.45am on Thursday.
