The man charged with five counts of arson after a series of fires at the Foxton racecourse has been named as Kelvin Webb.
The 35-year-old entered no plea when he appeared in the Levin District Court on Thursday.
Four fires were lit at the racecourse in the space of 10 days last month, damaging a grandstand, two other stable buildings and a shed.
A fifth blaze in the early hours of last Sunday burnt down half of the final remaining stable block.
