NZ companies look to move offshore - survey

A survey suggests one in four export companies intend to move at least part of their business off-shore in the next two years.

The research, done for the freight company DHL, also says that one in three already manufacture some components abroad, primarily due to labour costs.

However it also found that many export companies are doing well despite the high dollar and fuel prices.

The study of 350 companies says 59% expect to increase orders in the next 12 months and 54 percent are expecting increased profitability.
