Grief counselling agency needs funds

11:06 am on 17 January 2012

A grief counseling agency is so stretched because of disasters such as the Christchurch earthquakes, Pike River and the Carterton balloon tragedy, it needs donations to stay afloat.

Skylight is a not for profit, non-Government organisation based in Wellington, that provides resources to all parts of the country.

Chief executive Bice Awan says the agency has had to reduce staff because of low cash-flow, meaning remaining personnel are doing several jobs.

She says the agency is at risk of folding if it cannot find at least $150,000 in sponsorship over the next three months.
