The board members for the soon-to-be-established New Zealand Transport Agency have been announced.

The agency, which will merge Land Transport New Zealand and Transit New Zealand from 1 August, will be chaired by Brian Roche, a partner at accountancy firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

He will be supported by seven board members, including former Christchurch mayor Garry Moore and retired Rotorua mayor Grahame Hall.

Paul Fitzharris, acting chairman of Land Transport New Zealand, and Bryan Jackson, acting chairman of Transit New Zealand, will also serve on the board.
