Two jetboat drivers involved in a collision on a river in Waikato in August last year have been charged with operating vessels in a dangerous manner.
Waikato Regional Council has laid the charges in Morrinsville District Court under the Maritime Transport Act.
The two boats collided on the Waiomu stream near Matamata and three people were injured.
The council said the incident is a reminder of the need to take extreme care while operating powerful jetboats.
A hearing date has yet to be set.
