A new system for posting packages being trialled on the Kapiti Coast is proving unpopular with some people, who say it's costing them more.
New Zealand Post has been offering seven different size boxes and bags at five post shops since September. The bags and boxes range from $3 to $16.
Even if customers have already wrapped their parcels, they still have to pay what it would cost to go in a bag or box.
Some people say they are going to Porirua to avoid the charges.
