A man was seriously injured in an explosion at a scrapmetal yard in Tauranga on Friday morning.
The Fire Service was called to the suburb of Greerton at 8.45am.
It says the man was opening a metal container with a gas cutter when the container blew up.
He is now in hospital with serious head injuries.
