The Rescue Coordination Centre says a man who went missing from his yacht in the Bay of Plenty may have fallen overboard while trying to anchor.
A search for Richard Rusbatch, 56, began yesterday after his yacht Honfleur was found unmanned near Mayor Island.
A search of the island will be held on Wednesday.
