A Gisborne woman, 30, has been charged with murder following the death of a man in the city Tuesday night.
The police were called to a house in Childers Rd in the suburb of Elgin at 10pm Tuesday night and found a man with stab wounds.
He was taken to Gisborne Hospital but was dead on arrival.
Police say they have arrested a woman in Opotiki and charged her with the man's murder.
She will appear in the Gisborne District Court on Thursday.
The victim's name will not be released until family have been notified.
