6:22 pm on 5 August 2008

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has found a psychologist guilty of professional misconduct over a relationship she had with a client.

The woman, who will have name suppression until Friday, admitted her relationship with a former prisoner she was counselling last year.

The tribunal found against the woman on Tuesday and cancelled her registration immediately. It has also ordered her censure, saying it wanted to make clear that it considered her conducted unacceptable.

The tribunal has not fined the woman, but has ordered her to pay costs of $1,500.
